CAGD 330 - Blog Post 7

Liam O'Hare

This week I mainly worked a lot on getting the hands laid out finally. I build all of the segments as well as individually used the move tool to size and shape them for each finger, as not ever segment was supposed to actually be the same.

The hand only has four digits which is nice, I made sure to get the angles of the fingers right so that it represented the art, however all of the segments are folded out so I can rig and pose them later. I plan to do some more adjustments later to better achieve some smaller details on every finger. I made sure to model all of the details that are shared on each finger so I wouldn't need to repeat them every time. I plan to use the move and HPolish brush just to wrap up and complete the hand. There also will be some final dam standard adjustments shown off in the next screenshot.

Some cleanup is still required however this marks everything for the robot being build out. Now I can move onto cleanup and detail. I chose to first do this with the shoulder and moving around of some torso pieces, still by getting some proportions correct. I also adjusted some hip pieces until I was happy with proportions. Next I jumped to the core of the robot to really start carving in some details.

This is all starting to look much better and cleaner. This core section is perhaps the largest piece on the robot so by starting with it I can really get an understanding of how much detail and cleanliness I want to achieve, which is a lot. I can say that I am really happy with this front part.

This is an area I am confident to say I am happy with, and from far away it looks great. I am excited to see the rest of the robot achieve this look as well.
